The Diamondback is the University of Maryland’s official independent student newspaper. Our financial independence allows us to report on important university or College Park issues without fear of censorship or interference. We support the important work and education of our 150 student journalists solely through the advertising we sell and the very generous charitable donations of our readers.
Your donation will help in so many ways, including:
- The purchase of modern equipment such as computers, software, photographic and video equipment.
- Travel expenses for our student reporters to cover Maryland basketball and football games.
- Development and maintenance of our mobile and web platforms.
The Diamondback is an IRS – recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and any charitable donation made will be fully tax – deductible to individuals or corporations.
The Diamondback has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists as best college newspaper five times, including best regional non-daily for 2017.
